Savory Cheese and Herb Yorkshire Puddings
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
to taste salt
for greasing vegetable oil
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley and thyme)
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, milk, eggs, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes to allow the flour to fully hydrate.
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Place a muffin tin in the oven to heat up with a small amount of vegetable oil in each cup.
Carefully remove the hot muffin tin from the oven and pour the batter into each cup, filling them halfway. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and chopped fresh herbs on top of each pudding.
Place the muffin tin back in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the puddings are puffed up and golden brown.
Serve the Savory Cheese and Herb Yorkshire Puddings hot, straight from the oven. Enjoy these deliciously savory treats as a delightful lunch or a flavorful side dish for any meal.
For a variation, you can experiment with different types of cheese such as Gruyere or Parmesan, or add in additional herbs like rosemary or chives to customize the flavor profile of the Yorkshire Puddings.
